Blake Corbet - President/Producer/Writer

Blake Corbet is a writer, producer, and acts as President of Anagram Pictures. He is involved in the financial and creative progress of the company's full slate of feature film and television properties.

Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Blake completed an English Degree at Carlton University. While building his firm "Landesign" from a summer student enterprise into a widely respected landscape construction company that employed thirty-five people building multi-million dollar civic parks, Blake was also busy writing, directing and producing several short films and theatre plays.

Like partners Trent Carlson and Andrew Currie, Blake studied Film at Simon Fraser University. He met Trent when they both had short films in the same festival, and in 1999 joined Anagram as partner and president to help fast track the company's first two feature films.

Blake has produced all of Anagram's feature films including: Mile Zero; The Delicate Art of Parking (which he also co-wrote); Missing in America, with New York-based Intrinsic Value, starring Danny Glover and David Strathairn; and FIDO, a subversive comedy starring Carrie-Anne Moss and Billy Connolly.

Recently, Blake wrote and produced a television movie with CTV called Elijah, a comedic look at a pivotal moment in Canadian history. He also has several other features in development including Jesus Murphy, an edgy political comedy about a stand-up comic who becomes an evangelical atheist.

Feature films have always been Blake’s passion; and, he believes, represent a real opportunity for positive cultural change. “Global warming, war, genocide, extinction, you name it, the jeopardy of our planet, these are all symptoms of how we think, what we value. It’s our culture. And that can change. That’s the hope.”

An enthusiastic photographer and salsa dancer, Blake is the father of five.
